MUGGS Christmas Party

Hey there!

 

 

Tomorrow is our MUGGS Christmas party. We will meet at our usual time - 9:15 and have a fun morning of celebrating the gift of Jesus together. Tammy will be sharing a Christmas devotional and we will be doing a gift exchange and sharing some favorite Christmas goodies together.

 

 

So please bring:

A gift for the gift exchange - regifting is encouraged, if there is something around your house that your not using and you think another mom might enjoy wrap it up and bring it along. If you can't find anything to bring from home, do not spend more than $5 on a gift for the exchange. We will put all the gifts in the middle of a big circle and we will draw numbers to choose a gift or steal - so come ready to have fun!

 

 

A snack to share - Instead of our usual brunch we ask that everyone bring along a snack to share. This can be a plate of your favorite holiday cookies, a veggie plate, or any other snack you would like to share. Please don't stress about this and if you need to go very simple that's okay.

MUGGS - Wednesday, November 28th

Hoping you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. Thanks to Tammy and the rest of the leadership team for carrying on in my absence last time. Your prayers were answered for my son Seth. The doctor found and removed a polyp and told us that Seth has a healthy colon and should not need another colonoscopy until he's 50, PTL!

 

 I hear that due to the time of prayer you all didn't get to the study. I appreciate Tammy's sensitivity to the prompting of the Spirit and her prayer warrior heart.  So we will take a look at chapter 3 - "Looking for Love in all the Wrong Places" this week after our brunch time together. Please bring along contributions for Christmas gifts for the childcare workers this week.

MUGGS This Week - 11/14

Hey MUGGS Moms,

It's a MUGGS week. After our extra week off it's time for MUGGS again - thanks to Nicole for the reminder that we didn't have MUGGS last week, anytime there are 5 Wednesdays in a month it gets tricky. We meet on 2nd & 4th Wednesdays, except in December where we only meet on the 2nd Wednesday.

 

 

We will start with brunch at 9:15 and then move to our study time at 10 where we will be exploring "Looking for Love in all the Wrong Places" - week 3 of "Falling in Love with Jesus". Along with our study we will have a time of prayer for little Duncan and Bridell family. Remember to bring items for the gift basket for the Bridells!!

 

 

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend on Wednesday due a test my son Seth is having at Blank that morning, but Tammy and the rest of the leadership team will carry on beautifully in my absence I am sure. I would appreciate your prayers for Seth as he goes through the colonoscopy - and for healing for his gut. The gastroenterologist thinks he either has a polyp or ulcerative colitis. We are praying it is just a polyp and that they will be able to deal with it during the procedure.

MUGGS Week - Study Begins

Hey ladies,

It's a MUGGS week!! I'm so looking forward to seeing all of your beautiful faces and we are excited to get started with our study, "Falling in Love with Jesus". It has been so exciting to see our group grow and flourish this fall. I am excited about all God is doing through our group! We will discuss week 1, so if you have the workbook do your best to complete pages 6-20. No one will be checking to see if homework if complete:), so no judgement if you are not able to get it done - you will still benefit from our study time.

Childcare Update

Due to the increase in kids we have this year, we've had to make some changes to the childcare provided to better accommodate the kids and workers. Here are the changes to expect beginning this Wednesday.

--Until further notice, there will be no childcare for children under 1 year, unless your child is a steady walker. If you have a child who is younger than 1 year, then you need to keep your child with you for the duration of our meetings. If your child is less than one year and a steady walker, your child may go to the young toddler room if you feel comfortable.

--There will be three different childcare rooms for the different ages: 1-2 (young toddlers), 2s and 3s (toddlers), and 3.5plus/preschool (for kids who are 3.5 years and older). The young toddlers will meet in the nursery on the right side, toddlers on the left, and the preschool room is the room located in the foyer across from the other nurseries. Signs will be posted on the doors, and Jennie Beare and I will be available to direct you to the correct room if you need help.

--So that each room can be adequately staffed with adult workers, two moms will be required to volunteer with childcare each meeting. On Wednesday, Jennie will pass around a sign up sheet for you to pick a date that you will volunteer. Moms who are exempt from this are those who have to keep their baby with them beause their child is less than one year. Jennie or I will remind you of your turn to volunteer in the childcare rooms via email or a phone call the week of our MUGGS meetings.

--We kindly ask that you pick up your children immediately after Jenn or Tammy dismisses us or closes our meeting. When you pick up your child, please help the nursery workers pick up any mess that is yet to be cleaned up. If you want to stay and chat with other moms or help clean up after our meetings, please feel free to do so after picking up your children. We want to honor the time commitment the nursery workers have volunteered for, and want to help them leave promptly so they can move on with their busy days.

It's a MUGGS Week!

Hey MUGGS Moms,

It is a muggs week this week and we are so excited to get started with our new study on Wednesday. The books arrived at my house today and we are looking forward to learning more about the love of Jesus in this study. We will start our brunch time at 9:15 and then will dive into our study time at 10 this Wednesday.

 Jennie & Christine have been working on finding more childcare workers to help with the increase of children we have this year. We plan to add a 3rd nursery room to accomodate all the children. If you know of ANYONE who might be willing to help please let us know.

  I encourage you to come Wednesday with expectation in your spirit of all God desires to teach us.

Tomorrow, It Begins!!

MUGGS Moms,

Tomorrow is our first meeting of the 2012-2013 session. We are so excited to get going and look forward to gathering together to encourage one another. This year we are excited to be working through a study that will draw us closer to Jesus, deeper into a love relationship with the One who can meet all our needs if we will just turn to him with the concerns of our heart.

As always come enjoy our time together starting with Brunch followed by the introduction of our study and devotional presented by our new co-teacher Tammy Hayes. There will be a sign-up to order a workbook for our study, "Falling in Love with Jesus" which we highly recommend you commit to complete throughout the year. This study guide will help you dig deeper and come to know Jesus more.

Keep you eyes open for new moms that may be joining us. Do your best to make them feel welcome along with welcoming moms who have been attending previously. We want everyone to feel welcome, loved, and encouraged in our group!!

Gearing Up

We are gearing up for another great year with MUGGS. Our first fall meeting will be Wednesday, September 12th from 9:15-11:15 at E-Free. Our format for this year will be similar to last year beginning with our time of food and fellowship followed by our study time. We will be starting our study time a little earlier at 10 am. I am so excited that Tammy Hayes will be co-teaching with me this year. Tammy shared a personal testimony with us at one of our meetings this past spring. Tammy's love for Jesus is so evident and she is just a joy to be around. I know she will be a wonderful addition to our group. Our study for this coming year is called "Falling in Love with Jesus" by Dee Brestin & Kathy Troccoli. This is a wonderful video study that will encourage us grow in our personal relationship with Jesus. We will also explore the importance of developing relationships of spiritual encouragement and challenge to help us grow in our faith even during the busy years of mothering. Additionally we plan to sprinkle in "mommy tips" spotlight occasionally throughout the year which will focus on the practical aspects of motherhood such as cleaning, grocery savings, recipe sharing, and menu planning tips. If there is an area which you are passionate about and you would like to share a 5-10 minute spotlight please let Jenn know. Finally, we plan to take time to share prayer requests and pray together in small groups at the close of our meetings. We hope this will help us get to know one another better and encourage growth of relationships. Posters are going up around town to spread the word but the best advertisement is word of mouth so invite your friends and neighbors who you think might enjoy our group. Our childcare team is working to arrange caregivers. We request that you register your kiddos for childcare so we can make sure we have the staff needed to meet the needs. Our Last Meeting

Hey MUGGS Moms,

This Wednesday, May 23rd is our final meeting of the 2011-2012 session. It has been a great year and I know we will enjoy our last morning meeting together. We will have our regular time of brunch together and then I will have card making materials available for those who want to craft together. As I was brainstorming ideas for a craft we could do together I decided to go with card making. Over the years I have made simple cards to share with others for special celebrations. This can be a huge cost savings as cards can be quite expensive. And it's often easier to make a card at home than take all the kids to store and keep them occupied while you pick one out:)

We will be collecting donations for gifts for the childcare workers again on Wednesday and then Christine will buy and send the gifts to the many women who have blessed us this year.  As I mentioned at the last meeting we would appreciate it if you would brainstorm names of women from your circle of life that might be able to volunteer in the nursery for MUGGS.  This is a vital element of our ministry that can be a bit challenging. We will send around a sheet for you to share names of those who have come to mind.

 

I will have all the paper products available for us to use. If you have tools, such as scissors, small paper cutters, punches, etc. that you would be willing to bring along to use and share with others that would be helpful as I don't have enough tools for everyone to use. I hope this will be a fun activity that will be of use to us all.

I have heard from a couple moms that are willing to come on the leadership team, but we would welcome others! If you have been thinking about it - let me know. You're welcome to come to the planning meeting this summer just to see what it's about and then decide if you want to commit!  A big thank you to all who helped this year. Excited for another great year ahead.

2nd to Last

Tomorrow is our 2nd to last morning meeting for the spring. Tammy Hayes will be sharing with us tomorrow and I know you will be blessed by her! Please consider joining the leadership team for next year - we need more help to keep the group going strong next year! We would also welcome ideas for our final meeting which we would like to be a celebration time together.

Discipling Follow-up

I so appreciated hearing from Pastor Brent last week and hope that the time blessed you as well.  The 4 challenges he left us with were:
1-Study the Word on your own
2-Study the Word with your spouse
3-Study the Word with your kids
4-Help your kids learn to study the Word on their own

April 25th Meeting Reminder

February 22nd Meeting Reminder

Just a reminder that we will be meeting this Wednesday, February 22nd. We will be finishing up our "Professionalizing Motherhood" study by taking some time think about our goals in motherhood. If you have a study guide please bring it along - I will have extra goal pages for those who don't have their study guides.

For the remainder of our meetings this year we had a suggestion that we focus on topics of interest to our moms. So please come with ideas Wednesday or email me with ideas of topics you would like to cover with our group. We will choose the most requested topics to cover for the remainder of our meetings. We will take a look at what the Bible says about each of these topics and then break into discussion groups to share ideas.

January 25th - Meeting Reminder

Just a quick reminder that we are meeting tomorrow. It's hard to believe it's already the end of January - the month has flown by for me, hopefully for you as well.
